Review
The vast body of Jewish religious literature can seem intimidating to the prospective learner. There is so much to absorb and assimilate - is there anyway to make the task less daunting? That is what makes Yosef Nachman Rosenthal's Pieces of Wisdom such a valuable contribution to the important field of Jewish religious studies.
The book consists of many sections, each which concerns a teaching of Torah. Such subjects as the place of Torah creation, dealings with other people, the proper respect one should give to G-d are all dealt with in a highly readable format. The use of overly technical terminology is avoided. And each point is presented in a straightforward, easy to understand manner. This book is proof that whatever you want to know, you can look it up in the Torah and find answers to your questions. Pieces of Wisdom is well written, informative and well worth the price for its explanation of Jewish religious topics.

2. The only davening that I have ever done, I have done in a language I could not understand. In reading through Yosef Rosenthal's 389 pages of wisdom, I believe that I understand prayer for the very first time. Mr. Rosenthals's tome is replete with knowledge and appears to me to be the essence of learning. I am humbled by the simplicity with which he communicates G-d's plan and especially recommend these pages to anybody who has been looking for an elegant path to understanding the Jewish way of life.
